He was part of the most famous play in college football history when, in the 1954 Cotton Bowl, Alabama tackle Tommy Lewis came off the sideline to tackle Moegle as he broke away down the sideline. The refs saw it and awarded Dicky a touchdown on the play. Rice won 28-6. Fun fact: Rice is 3-0 all-time against Alabama.
